TOOLS IN THE KITCHEN 19

ICE MAKER
An icemaker, ice generator, or ice machine may refer to either a consumer device for making ice, found inside a home freezer; a stand-alone appliance for making ice, or an industrial machine for making ice on a large scale. The term "ice machine" usually refers to the stand-alone appliance.
The ice generator is the part of the ice machine that actually produces the ice. This would include the evaporator and any associated drives/controls/subframe that are directly involved with making and ejecting the ice into storage. When most people refer to an ice generator, they mean this ice-making subsystem alone, minus refrigeration.
An ice machine, however, particularly if described as 'packaged', would typically be a complete machine including refrigeration, controls, and dispenser, requiring only connection to power and water supplies.
The term icemaker is more ambiguous, with some manufacturers describing their packaged ice machine as an icemaker, while others describe their generators in this way.
How to Clean Up ?
By wiping clean parts of parts and make sure the power has been removed so that it is cleaned more easily by using ordinary cleaning soap.
UNDERCOUNTER CHILLER
Besides undercounter chiller we also provide Undercounter freezer. Then what is the difference Undercounter chiller with Underconter Freezer, which distinguishes both is just its function. If undercounter chiller to store fruits, vegetables and drinks then undercounter frezzer is used to store fish, meat or foodstuffs that require temperatures below 0 ° C to -12 ° C in order to keep freshness.
This machine serves to store vegetables, fruit, beverage packaging, milk & others.
How to Clean Up ?
To clean the chiller or the downstairs to keep in mind is to secure the light fittings so as not to be exposed to water, to clean the refrigerator chiller two doors open the air duct cover and clean it but be careful because there are temperature sensors in the air ducts. To clean the walls of the chiller can use liquid soap then rinse with clean water.
WOK
A wok is a versatile round-bottomed cooking vessel, originating from China. The use of the wok is very prevalent in South China (particularly Guangdong Province). It is one of the most common cooking utensils in China and also found in parts of East, South and Southeast Asia, as well as becoming a popular niche cookware in all the world.
Woks are used in a range of different Chinese cooking techniques, including stir frying, steaming, pan frying, deep frying, poaching, boiling, braising, searing, stewing, making soup, smoking and roasting nuts. Wok cooking is done with long-handled utensils called chahn (spatula) or hoak (ladle). The long handles of these utensils allow cooks to work with the food without burning their hands.
The most common materials used in making woks today are carbon steel and cast iron. Although the latter was the most common type used in the past, cooks tend to be divided on whether carbon steel or cast iron woks are superior.
How to Clean Up ?
            Key steps:
 1. Mix the boiling water, vinegar, and baking soda powder to soak the burnt portion of the pan or frying pan.
 2. Use a wooden spoon or laundry coir to remove the crust slowly.
 3. After being washed as usual, make sure the pots and pans are dry before they are applied on the stove so that nothing burns to cause scorched marks.

PRACTICE ACTIVITY 9 (IND VER)

FOODS TRAINEE 3

HAINAN CHICKEN RICE           Hainanese Chicken Rice is a dish adapted from early Chinese immigrants originally from Hainan province in southern China. It is considered one of the national dishes of Singapore. Hainanese chicken rice is most commonly associated with Singaporean, Malaysian and Hainanese cuisines, although it is also popular in Thailand, where it is known as Khao Man Gai, Vietnam and Indonesia. It is based on a well-known Hainanese dish called Wenchang chicken, due to its adoption by the Hainanese overseas Chinese population in the Nanyang area (present-day Southeast Asia). Catherine Ling of CNN describes Hainanese chicken rice as one of the "40 Singapore foods we can't live without". In Malaysia, as in Singapore, chicken rice is available in many Chinese coffee shops, restaurants and street hawker stalls, and also in chain restaurants such as The Chicken Rice Shop and OldTown White Coffee.      ...
