PRACTICE ACTIVITY 20 (ENG VER)

Hello Guys,
Just like usual I will tell you about my activities on campus especially the kitchen and this time I don't make cakes or bread but I will make Fruit Carving or Carve Fruit or Vegetables for Garnish all food or Set Ups for a meal.

As we know that Fruit Carving is one of the art of carving these fruits. usually served in large events such as making yellow rice cone. This art is a mainstay of Thailand's tourism. Thailand is known as one of the best fruit producing countries in the world. so it's no stranger that this art is highly developed in Thailand. Fruits commonly used include melons, watermelons, cucumbers, oranges, carrots, tomatoes, etc. Not only wood and stone that can be carved. Fruits become very beautiful and attractive when touched by the hands of fruit carving artists.
The artists deftly made whole fruits turn into sculptures that have high artistic value. This is Fruit Carving, an art in serving food with beauty, usually the media used are fruits that are round in shape and have a soft texture. Decorating or painting this has special expertise, because in addition to requiring expertise, patience, and a strong imagination, it also requires people who really have a high artistic spirit. Not even all experienced chefs can create and pour their ideas so that the appearance of the dish is interesting.
The creativity and creativity of the idea in serving the dish is expensive because it contains high artistic value. The art of carving fruits and vegetables is called Fruit Carving. In Fruit Carving, someone will sculpt and carve a fruit using fairly simple tools, namely, cutter, serrated knife and toothpick if needed. Or use special tools. The most common are carving knives. the knife used also varies, and has its function - each has a curved tip, to make curved strokes, some are long, pointed, usually used to make small strokes, and sharp, and some are shaped like chisels, and have different shapes, which function to make strokes resembling flower petals, and many other types of knives.

And this time I made a carving from carrots, using a predetermined carrot to make carving because we know that the texture of the carrot is so hard that we are tested on how to carve from hard material, if the hard ingredients are good or smooth if you use ingredients that are softer or not hard like apples, watermelons, papaya etc. so that's the reason why we begin carving or carving using hard materials.

What I made was a separate carving which would later be assembled into one part, many other types of carving that did not separate or intact without having to be assembled but I had more to separate because it would make it easier for me as a beginner.

This is the result of the series I made which consisted of Leaves, Flowers and Fruit Flowers into one series, for me as a beginner and the first time I carved was quite happy even though the results were not very good in my opinion because in Carving it must have a high artistic spirit and patient in every carving.
So that's my activity this time, I hope you can try to make this Carving with various types and variations according to what you want and  see you in the next post.

TOOLS IN THE KITCHEN 3

CHEESE KNIFE           Cheese cutters are designed to cut soft, sticky cheeses (moist and oily), and accordingly do not have a large sharp edged blade compare to a cheese knife with holes in the blade. The cutting edge of cheese cutters are typically a fine gauge stainless steel or aluminium wire (a "cheesewire") stretched across a supporting frame. The thin wire cuts through a cheese block with hand pressure.           The original Prodyne Gourmet Cheese Slicer had a wooden board with a slot cut into it and a hole through which one end of a U-shaped steel cutting arm was inserted. In the patented design, a stainless steel wire extends between the two ends of the cutting arm fit into the slot, and cuts the cheese. The wire has loops at each end; one loop is around the steel cutting arm in the slot, while the other passes around a metal pin though a plastic handle on the other end of the cutt...
