PRACTICE ACTIVITY 16 (ENG VER)

Yeah You, welcome back to my blog
Today as usual, I will tell you about my activities and this time it was very different as usual because me and my friends gonna made rhombus from pandanus leaves. This is the first time we make it, for beginners like me it is very difficult because it requires patience and very high concentration in my opinion, but after you succeed in doing it, there will be a sense of wanting to make the rhombus continuously.

Rhombus (Ketupat or kupat) is a South East Asian maritime based rice dish wrapped in a wrap made of woven leaves of young coconut (janur), or sometimes from other palm leaves. Ketupat is most commonly found during the Eid celebrations until the next 5 days when Muslims celebrate the end of the fasting month.
Typical foods that use ketupat include kupat tofu (Sundanese), kupat kandangan (Banjar), Grabag (regency of Magelang), kupat glabet (Kota Tegal), coto makassar (from Makassar, ketupat called katupa), lotek, and gado-gado which can be served with ketupat or lontong. Ketupat can also be served to accompany satai, although lontong is more common.

First of all, make the frame burnt first, that is the pandanus wrap 3 times in the hand, each of which has the opposite direction as shown above. The pandan leaves which have the first right side of the winding enter into the first coil on the left then alternate. Here we have to be details and carefully not to make the plaited ketupat become irregular.

The frame has been made, then the tip of the pandanus leaves is inserted between the leaves of the ketupat until it becomes the perfect plait of frame until each end meets on each side.

Then trim it with no intermediaries or interrupts so that when it is filled the rice does not fall like in the picture above, to make adjusting the size of the diamond depending on the width of the leaves we use the wider the leaves the greater the ketupat results and vice versa.
That is my activity this time in making Ketupat as a craft and if you want to ask  just comment below about this Rhombus (ketupat).

Traditionally the meat is dipped in or brushed with sauce several times during cooking. This popular dish was originally created by Japanese cooks of the seventeenth century, when urbanization, changes in agricultural methods and exposure to new ingredients from abroad gave rise to new, innovative cooking styles.                 The tare is traditionally mad...

TYPES OF BREAD

There are three main kinds of bread in the world: those that rise highest and so have to be baked in pans, those with a medium volume, like rye and French breads, and those that hardly rise at all and consequently are called flatbreads . Wholemeal bread                  Wholemeal and wheatmeal breads are popular. In New Zealand wholemeal breads must have 90% or more wholemeal flour in the recipe used, and wheatmeals any level of wholemeal flour mixed with white flour.                  Processing of these differs in two ways from that of white bread. During mixing the amount of water added to make an optimum dough consistency needs to be increased because the bran in the wholemeal absorbs more water. The dough is weaker because the bran particles break up the strong protein bonds in the bread dough, and this w...
