PRACTICE ACTIVITY 11 (ENG VER)

Hello Guys,
Today will tell you about my activities as usual and this time  i will discuss a little explanation or information about the Art of Carving Fruit and Vegetables or commonly called Carving.
Fruit carving was first discovered in 1364. An accomplished artist named Nang Noppamart made a boat decoration on a festival that was routinely held during the month of the month that fell in December. He carved fruits and vegetables into flowers until his carving works looked like so beautiful.
The journey then developed not only in Thailand, but also in the Bamboo Curtain country, China. The difference is that Thailand has carving characteristics that resemble native plants and animals in the country of white elephants. While in China, fruit is carved according to traditional philosophy or events that are closely related to culture, such as dragons, lotus flowers, and others.

Fruit Carving is one of the art of carving these fruits. usually served in large events such as making a yellow rice cone. This art is a mainstay of Thailand's tourism. Thailand is known as one of the best fruit producing countries in the world, so it is no stranger if this art is very developed in Thailand. Fruits commonly used include melons, watermelons, cucumbers, oranges, carrots, tomatoes, etc. Not only wood and stone can be carved. Fruits also become very beautiful and attractive when touched by the hands of fruit carving artists. Deftly these artists make whole fruits turn into statues that have high artistic value.

The most common is the carving knife. the knife used varies, and has its own function one that has a bent end, to make the curve curved, there is a long, pointed edge, usually used to make small, sharp strokes, and some are shaped like a chisel, and have different shapes, which function to make strokes resemble flower petals, and many other types of knives. In addition, cutting boards are also used as a complementary tool as a base for cutting, and carving.

The creation carved in the fruit also has an interesting and unique impression, which has carved flowers, faces, names, and carved animal shapes. From carving, the level of complexity is usually to carving the fruit with a very high level of carving (very details). The fruit that is commonly used has a texture that is not too soft and not too hard, the fruit media is usually carved not using a tools but using a serrated knife, cutter, and toothpicks.

Talking about the existence of fruit carving art in Indonesia this time, it turns out that there are many hotels and restaurants adopting fruit carving as jewelry in the middle of the table or as a decoration display of food at social events, companies, and wedding celebrations locally. It's just that, it's mandatory to choose fresh fruit meat. This fruit carving technique only uses a knife. But it requires practice to form a perfect carving.
So that is a little about the Art of Carving Fruit and Vegetables, and I hope that you will have a spirit for you as well as me, if you have questions just comment below.

PRACTICE ACTIVITY 9 (IND VER)

HAINAN CHICKEN RICE           Hainanese Chicken Rice is a dish adapted from early Chinese immigrants originally from Hainan province in southern China. It is considered one of the national dishes of Singapore. Hainanese chicken rice is most commonly associated with Singaporean, Malaysian and Hainanese cuisines, although it is also popular in Thailand, where it is known as Khao Man Gai, Vietnam and Indonesia. It is based on a well-known Hainanese dish called Wenchang chicken, due to its adoption by the Hainanese overseas Chinese population in the Nanyang area (present-day Southeast Asia). Catherine Ling of CNN describes Hainanese chicken rice as one of the "40 Singapore foods we can't live without". In Malaysia, as in Singapore, chicken rice is available in many Chinese coffee shops, restaurants and street hawker stalls, and also in chain restaurants such as The Chicken Rice Shop and OldTown White Coffee.      ...
